Our desire is to show our solidarity in a new way, putting excellence at the service of the latter.

On September 25, 2019, Bambini in Emergenza inaugurated the first Social Centre in Bucharest, according to Montessori pedagogy. Its name Floare de Colț, which in Italian means alpine star, was chosen precisely to emphasize the uniqueness and value attributed to the beneficiaries of the centre. The project was carried out together with the Municipality and Social Services from sector 6 in Bucharest and thanks to the contribution and supervision of the Montessori Institute of Bucharest (MIB).
GOAL
Our goal is to offer a number of 45 of the most disadvantaged children in Sector 6 in Bucharest, an excellent preschool education, according to the Montessori Method. In fact, our belief is that delays (cognitive and / or behavioural) diagnosed in children of families in in serious difficulties are often the consequence of a “simple delayed start”, but that they can be recovered if supported promptly and with an appropriate educational approach.
Inauguration in Bucharest

On September 25, the first Montessori Kindergarten was inaugurated in Bucharest for children from families in difficulty. The project was carried out in collaboration with the Social Services and the Municipality from sector 6 in Bucharest.

THE MONTESSORI METHOD
We chose the Montessori method because, based on our past and ongoing experiences, it has been shown that it leads to the development of cognitive, manual, behavioural, emotional and moral skills in the child (and in case of recovery) and eliminating the initial gaps between peers. The Montessori Institute in Bucharest will guarantee the continuous supervision of the educational activities carried out within the kindergarten and periodic staff training.
THE BENEFICIARIES
The beneficiaries are and will be children aged between 3 and 6 years in real need (since they come from families with income below the threshold of absolute poverty, single-parent or with one or both sick parents, not schooled or with more than 3 children dependent) therefore inevitably neglected.

FACILITY
The facility that will house the Floare de Colț Centre (in Sector 6 in Bucharest) is a modern two-storey villa of about 600 square meters, equipped with large and bright spaces, furnished according to the indications of the Montessori method and a delightful outdoor garden. Inside the Centre, children are welcomed from Monday to Friday, from 8:00 to 16:00 and are followed and accompanied on their recovery path by a team of professionals (Montessori educators and Montessori educator assistants, psychologist, psychotherapist, social worker).
