Foster care monitoring

The foster care is monitored carefully and constantly throughout its duration through recurring meetings with the child (and members of his new family) and through his careful observation at home, at school, with friends and during the various daily activities. At the same time, the economic situation of the family is and will be periodically re-analysed because, beyond the efforts made and the specific preparation of “our mothers”, it is important that the context in which the child will live remains stable even from this point of view.

Psychological assessments and periodic reports by the social worker of Bambini in Emergenza and the relevant social services will document the path made by the child in the new family unit. It will be important to identify and anticipate as much criticality as possible both in the child and in the family that over the years could undermine the relationship and create difficulties and misunderstandings.

Every year for all children in foster care and for the young guests of the Centre of Singureni, Bambini in Emergenza organizes a beach holiday with the aim not only to give each of them a beneficial and carefree stay, but that allows the team of Bambini in Emergenza to evaluate the growth of each of them even outside the usual and known context. A monthly meeting between the foster parents and the team of Bambini in Emergenza will offer a moment of training and mutual exchange. In case of need, the team will be able to intervene on the child with psychotherapy sessions and on the couple with individual interviews.
